Some knobs or sliders, not many, because the nature of the launchpads is the pads obviously, but 4 knobs and 4 sliders, could give another dimension to the hardware experience. Melodic and drum pattern based step sequencer through its pads. But…10 years now the only significant progress is that they got RGB multicolor pads, and velocity sensitivity in pads, and I can’t see any other major improvement, which could be: Novation revealed their first Launchpads in 2009, and as a concept was innovative and genius, and so far, according to Sonic State, more than 300.000 items have been sold. So, why Novation doesn’t give many options to their customers? A lot of times isn’t only about the price, for instance some users don’t evaluate that much the built in step sequencer, so these users could be happy with the simpler versions. Ok, then make the Launchpad XS…the step sequencer version, and offer it for $ 350, and people who love the Launchpad workflow, and pad based step sequencers (see Circuit…for instance), will buy it immediately without hesitation. Why to put limits to your customers, how much extra money costs this freaking step sequencer $ 150? I’m just wondering why Novation they don’t make multiple versions of the same Launchpad. We don’t know all depend from the developer.
